50 kids get school bags in Gulmi, Lumbini Province of Nepal

6 March 2021, Solidarity International has provided free bags to school going children from impoverished communities at Shree Udaya Secondary School, Chandrakot Rural Municipality, Shantipur, Gulmi, Lumbini Province of Nepal. According to school Principal Shyam Lal Sharma, 50 children from Grade 1 to 5 received bags supported by SI.

Project Bag (Jhola), A bag for every child in Nepal is the initiatives of Solidarity Nepal – an entirely non-profitable and social welfare organization aiming to establish and implement sustainable education, health, community development, vocational skills & disaster response programs in rural areas of Nepal. By 2030 Solidarity have mission of providing school bags to more than 100,000 students. This project is also aimed at advocating the importance of education and attending school in Nepal.

50 school going children of Karnali province received School Bag under Project JHOLA

15 Dec 2020, Solidarity International in collaboration with Rotary Club of Kathmandu distributed school bags to 50 students of Shree Tila Basic School, Mahabai Rural Municipality-2, Kalikot, Karnali Province of Nepal.

School bags were handed over to the students through the representatives of ODA Foundation, an organization working in the sector of health, education, and community-led development in Kalikot, Nepal.

KATHMANDU Nov -23, 2020 : Nepali social worker and Founder President & Former CEO of Solidarity International, Rajendra Gautam has been honored with the title “Humanitarian Hero Award 2020” from Humanitarian Mission Canada in recognition of his participation and diligent commitment towards humanitarian service in the areas of Literacy, Health, Community Development, Vocational Skills and Disaster Response efforts in Nepal. Mr. Gautam was honored with cash prize of Canadian Dollar 5000 and Certificate of Recognition on 23 Nov, 2020 in Kathmandu from representatives of HMC.

Mr. Khatri Becomes New President of Solidarity International

On 10 May 2020, SI President & CEO Rajendra Gautam officially declared Om Khatri, the former General Secretary of SI as the next president of Solidarity International for 2020-2024.

The Global Executive Secretariat meeting nominated him for the Presidentship of SI for upcoming tenure. Mr. Khatri stood to be the best candidate and his leadership and diligence are what SI is proud of.

Similarly, the secretariat thanked founder and outgoing President & CEO Rajendra Gautam for his magnificent journey with SI. During his tenure, SI was able complete grand projects including Earthquake Relief Mission 2015, School Rebuild Project, Project HOPE : One Child One Donor Sponsorship Program, Project Jhola and various community development programs including drinking water project, girls toilet project and women and youth empowerment programs.

2000+ families, 1500+ individuals benefited during the earthquake relief mission. 20 schools were reconstructed. More than 10,000 children continued to go to school because of our school project. Thousands of bags were distributed in various rural regions of Nepal.

13 Jan 2020, Solidarity International in collaboration with Rotary Club of Kathmandu distributed school bags, stationery materials and hygiene kit to 50 students of Shree Sunali Primary School, Damti Saigha, Dang, Lumbini Province of Nepal.

100 school going children of Gandaki Province received School Bag under Project JHOLA

Solidarity International in coordination with Rotary Club of Kathmandu distributed 100 bags to 50 students of Dharmawoti Secondary School, 25 students of Sarbodaya Lower Secondary School and 25 students of Janajyoti Lower Secondary School of Siranchowk Rural Municipality Ward no 4 of Gorkha district on 15th Nov, 2019. The program was organized in the presence of Mr. Dipak Hamal, Chairman of Siranchowk Rural Municipality Ward no 4 and Mr. Rajendra Gautam, President & CEO of Solidarity International.

Project Jhola, A bag for every child in Nepal is the distribution of school bag to the marginalized school going children from far-flung remote places of Nepal. The project was initiated by Solidarity Nepal, A non-profitable and social welfare organization aiming to establish and implement sustainable education, health, drinking water and community development programs in the rural areas of Nepal and supported by the worldwide members & volunteers of Solidarity International, an international philanthropic organization based in Nepal with large network of members and volunteers worldwide.  By 2030 SI have a global agenda of providing school bags to more than 100,000 students.

SI Founder Rajendra Gautam bags Peace Hero 2019

KATHMANDU: Nepali social worker and Founder President & CEO of Solidarity International, Rajendra Gautam has been declared the Peace Hero Nepal 2019 by Peace Museum. He was recognized with the Award during Peace Hero Recognition Ceremony organized at Hotel Tibet International on 16th Feb, 2019 for his social contribution and dedicatedly working on communal peace, rural development and sustainable development in rural areas of Nepal.

He is the pioneer of “PROJECT HOPE – One Child, One Donor Sponsorship Program” that provides educational scholarships to more than 1000 underprivileged children each year in rural districts of Nepal. Till date more than 7,500 school going children have been benefited from this project. Currently, Gautam is dedicatedly working on several projects for communal peace, rural development, and sustainable development.

Besides, Mr. Gautam reconstructed 20 new schools in response to Nepal earthquake to benefit more than 2,500 school going children in five districts of Nepal.

Gautam had also won the “Change Maker Award 2018” by German Alliance, “Social Recognition 2017” by Ministry of Finance, “Youth Award 2016” by Nepal UK Development Trust, “Social Innovation Award 2015” by Nepal Switzerland Innovation Center and “National Peace Prize 2013” by Ministry of Peace.

Apart from Gautam, seven other renowned social personalities of Nepal such as CNN Hero 2010 Anuradha Koirala, CNN Super Hero 2016 Pushpa Basnet, Magsaysay Award Winner 2007 Mahabir Pun, Eye Surgeon from Nepal Sanduk Ruit, Media Person Rabi Lamichhane, Actors and Social Activists Sitaram Kattel/ Kunjana Ghimire, Peace Activist & UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador to Nepal Ani Choying Drolma had been nominated for the title.

School going children of Udaya Secondary School, Gulmi receives Hope Scholarship

Dec 22, 2018 – Gulmi, Solidarity International accomplished ‘Project HOPE 2018’ to the students of Udaya Secondary School of Chandrakot Gaunpalika-Shantipur, a hilly terrain of Gulmi district. The scholarship was provided to the students of backward community. From primary to secondary level students were provided with stationary materials, school uniform along with school bag.

The event was organized in the presence of President of School Management Committee Mr. Mimlal Shrestha, President & CEO of Solidarity International Mr. Rajendra Gautam, Senior Vice-President of Solidarity International Mr. Keshav Raj Subedi, President of Chandrakot Rural Municipality Mr. Dorna Khatri, School Teachers, Parents and Students.

The ceremony mainly dealt with the distribution of Hope Scholarship (Full Scholarship Includes – Stationary Materials, Bags, sweaters, Dress etc) to 15 underprivileged, war affected and marginalized students of the school.

Scholarship was distributed by the SI President & CEO Mr. Rajendra Gautam and Senior Vice-President of SI Mr. Keshav Subedi to the students in collaboration with school teachers.
